I have never run into a total sociopath before, but looking over your
usenet postings, I think you qualify!

How fortunate am I to have attracted your attention? Ask me, do I feel
    lucky?

You need to spend a lot more time on your boat John. How about taking
an around the world solo cruise? You need one.

I will not get into a flame war with you so I will let you take one
chance to explain what motivates you. The attached article seems to
identify you as a spammer. Perhaps it is not correct.

At any rate, if there is any truth in it, please remove yourself from
the newsgroup. If there is a moderator to this group, please help.

John, It is fascinating that you choose words like Jerk! Baloney!
Abuser! Thief! when you describe others.

You are absolutely silent, however, when people ask about your client
list, and your marketing activities on the net.

How uncharacteristic of John "the mouth that roared" Navas.

You've ducked direct questions for days now.

    Why is that?

Why is it that 99.9% of all the FAQ's available on the net,
are available without strings of any kind.

    Like www.56K.com

And Dan Kegel's ISDN home page

And www.refdesk.com for a wonderful gateway to literally thousands of
    free sites and FAQ's.

But the Navas FAQ is not free..

There are strings attached to receiving it.

    What are the "strings?"

    A valid email address.

    That's right.

The Holy Grail of spammers, world-wide.

Now let's see if we have this right. John Navas promotes a business
entity known as the Navas Group.

    His web page, at www.aimnet.com/~jnavas

    contains the following:

The Navas Group (sm) provides management and support services to a
variety of domestic and international clients, with emphasis on
high-technology marketing and product development. Expert witness
services available. Inquiries welcomed; extensive references available
    on request.

And John Navas trolls various computer and other NG's, constantly
referring people to "see my FAQ," and "read my FAQ."

But in order to do so, they have to provide John Navas with a valid
    email address.

Now what would a marketing representative want with valid email
    addresses?

Gee. Let's see. Have to think about that for awhile...

And, further, going back and doing a www.dejanews.com
search, you can find literally thousands of messages from John
(in both the new and old databases), in which John helpfully suggests
that the reader "see my FAQ," and "read my FAQ."

Only one problem. A large percentage of the questions being asked ARE
NOT COVERED in the Navas FAQ.

So why is John Navas seeking valid email addresses?

Time's up. Anyone got the right answer?

Has anyone noticed an increase in spam email after receiving the Navas
    FAQ?

If John Navas were an altruistic soul, lending his expertise to others
in the spirit of universal cooperation, his FAQ would simply be posted
on his web site. Free for all to view. No strings attached.

It is not a terribly long document.

    But it is not.

    Why not, John?

Who do you represent, John. Now and in the past.

And to what use are you putting our email addresses?

    [Sorry, skipped]

Now, while grasping at straws to validate your complaints against Cingular, you've made a total fool of yourself.
While not defending anyone's position here, it seems only humane to point out a few facts to you.
    FYI...
    John Navas started this group.
John Navas wrote the charter for this group
John Navas wrote the group's FAQ.
The post you've quoted in an attempt to discredit John Navas, was written and explained/defended almost 6 years ago, and had nothing to do with Cingular Wireless or their policies.
    sociopath? or Pot, kettle, black?

And because YOU wrote it, it has some special meaning?

This is the Usenet, pal. You knew what you were getting into. If you
    didn't, you are delusional.

Who cares what you wrote or didn't write? Nobody. Guess what? This is
the wild, wild west. Because YOU don't like something doesn't mean
squat. But somehow you think it does....

No offense, but I think you're projecting. Jealous? Seeking attention? Or

What contribution have you made other than noise and disruption? I've asked
before, but have yet to get an answer, which would seem to speak for itself.
It's truly a pity how your kind of attention-seeking tends to spoil it for the
rest of us -- a kind of Tragedy of the Commons -- but I guess that's what you
    have in mind.

There you go again, with your head in the sand, ignoring things that go
on around you--until and unless they have to do with YOU.

You are so wrapped up in yourself, it's amazing.

BTW, I might ask you the same thing: what contribution to you make,
John, other than spewing random crap just to hear yourself talk? You
think every word out of your mouth is holy and by definition the Truth,
so you feel it necessary to tell the world about your version of Truth.
That's the only reason you're here.

You couldn't stop doing it if your life depended on it. You're a
    sociopath.

("I has special meaning" definitely has Freudian connotations...)

A charter on a Usenet newsgroup has no special meaning whatsoever. It's
    not binding in any way.

That YOU think it has special meaning, shows what "special" meaning you
    put on YOURSELF. Period.

Not true. It has meaning to anyone that wants the newsgroup to be effective
and successful. Unfortunately, you fall outside that category. It also has
meanings to news admins that run Usenet.

Indeed, because I'm not a news admin. It's news admins that have the power.
OTOH, I do have standing with those news admins, because I wrote the charter
and created this group, and because I respect charters in general.

And now back to our regularly scheduled program...
