    Hi All,

I am working on a service that will take photos from camera phones and
post them to the web. The problem is that each cellular provider
sends out the photos via email in a different format. I do not know
anyone with a Cingular camera phone and they do not provide live
phones at any of the stores I have been to.

If you have a camera phone I would greatly appreciate it if you can
send me a picture from your camera phone. My email is
    [email protected]

While I cannot offer much in exchange other than my thanks, I do have
some extra gmail accounts. Until I run out, I would be happy to send
gmail invites to people who send me a followup email after sending me
a picture. Please mention either your cellphone email address or what
was in your picture so that this does not just become a random request
    for gmail accounts.

    Best,
    T.J.

didn't this guy try to fish the group a month or so ago?
Is he trying to get phone numbers? I can't figure his angle.

Re: Question about Cingular Camera Phones

Yup, I did post to the general cellular group, but got no answers. I
am building a photo sharing and organization product and would like to
support the feature of being able to post from a camera phone.
Unfortunately many of the cellular providers do not just attach the
photo to an email. Instead they make you traverse a number of web
pages to get to the image. Worse yet, some providers send photos in
multiple formats depending on phone type or plan, making life even
harder. In order to automate the process of retrieving the images I
need test emails. Some providers operate stores where you can try out
live phones. Many do not. Thus the plea for help.

All I can offer is my word that none of the email/phone numbers or the
images sent will be used and I shall delete them as soon as the system
    is up and running.

I would like to thank the person who sent me a picture earlier
tonight. I could still use a few more to make sure there is only one
    format being sent.

I could also use some messages from ATT and Sprint but this is not
really the group for that I have received a bunch of Verizon
emails already and they have all just arrived as email attachments
with no additional spurious advertising images attached. Some
providers attache extra images with their brand name for example which
it took me a while to eliminate.

If people are interested in a link to the site, I would be happy to
provide one once it has made it to beta.

    Best,
    T.J.

Actually, since most people with phones that can take pictures have
sent themselves a few, all you had to do was ask "how is the photo
sent" if that's what you wanted to know. (of course you don't get those
hard to get cell phone numbers that way)

Uh huh, sure. A bunch of "known good" cell phone numbers
and cell E-mail addresses sure couldn't be worth anything to
anyone, huh? You'll just delete them.
