Does Cingular have any pay as you go plans?

I have a teenaged daughter that will be driving soon and want her to have a
cell phone in case of a breakdown etc. But I don't want to get her a
regular cellphone as I worry she will go over the minutes and we'll get
    stuck with the bill.

cingular has the KIC prepaid program. Also 7-11 now has a prepaid
plan that uses the cingular network and costs only 20 cents/minute.

It doesn't matter which way you go... Teenagers will give out the
phone number! Once 1 person gets it, the minutes are used up!!!!!
Try getting a plan with 600 or 800 minutes, shared with you. If you
don't use many minutes, you are safe.
    Cingular offers ROLL-OVER minutes.
Been there, done that. I'm getting ready for my 3rd child to want a
    cell phone.

If all you want is emergency coverage, get a cheap TDMA/AMPS or CDMA/AMPS
phone, and *don't* activate it -- by FCC order, 911 calls can be made even
when a phone isn't activated. See
