And what precaution do you suggest for SMS Spam. Cingular offers none,
other than charging you for it!

An authoritative URL is hardly a lie,

    http://www.securityfocus.com/news/9886

and the Virus/trojan takes a bank of phone numbers, not needing specific
numbers. But again you didn't read the story. Your blithly calling it
FUD or a lie doesn't make it so or make the problem any less real. I see
    no URL from you.

One can do what I did, as long as Cingular does zero to stop SMS Spam,
but will charge you for it. I HAD MESSAGING TURNED OFF for my account.

Yet another reason I don't use a PC. (Check my headers - cough, Mac OSX,

Heck -- why stop there? For real protection, CANCEL YOUR SERVICE ENTIRELY.
    And leave us alone.

Network Manager? Did they finally computerize the fry machine?

You don't manage or administer or manage a cellular network- you don't have
    a clue about the subject.

Which is exactly what they need to do as it's a non-issue. You're the
only person that I've heard of that receives SMS SPAM. Your cell
number must have been placed on one too many public restroom walls.
