    Wrong on both counts.

In most states the AG doesn't have resources for small individual cases.

You're right .... and if we all (consumers) refused to sign
up with two-year contracts, we could lead the companies
around by their balls. My balls are beginning to hurt!

That's what they want you to believe. And if you believe it, then you
are bound. If you have a legitimate complaint, write to your State's
    Attorney General.

dispute charges on your credit card, or even take it to Small Claims Court.

The BBB is the real waste of time. There job is to deflect disputes not
solve them. They say so themselves in advertising to companies.

"The Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc. helps companies and major
corporations manage consumer disputes through its Dispute Resolution

    Notice they say manage...not resolve

An AG has some clout. With some credit cards disputing a charge helps if
you have a good credit record.

You're correct, however, depending on the way the Attorney General works in
your state, you may or may not be able to get a resolution on an *individual*
problem (like here in California, where there has to be a pattern of repeated
abuses against more than one individual for the AG's office to consider taking
    the case.)

I think Steve here is right. More often than not, the AG office isn't a
place for individual complaint resolution, and expecting such would be
considered a stretch. However, they do keep track of complaints that
cross their cluttered desks, and when enough is enough, they'll take an
interest. So, at least including the AG office in the loop, even if
only for informational purposes, the numbers do add up.

I've found the best way to get a cellular company to listen to you is to
complain to the FCC. Not for every small problem, but if the cell company
has you backed into a corner and won't listen to you, filing a complaint
with the FCC will miraculously make them interested in working out your
    problem.

I respectfully disagree. My experience with the BBB has been that they offer
limited assistance on any complaints. They will take your call and file a
report but if the company involved digs in their heels the BBB will do
little more than make a note of it in their database. They have never
recovered any money for me the few times I bothered to use them.

The BBB is a joke. I've tried them in the past, and never got any

And you think the one being discussed here is NOT weak??? This guy kept
dealing one deal after the other verbally. Dealing with any company requires
you to HAVE IT IN WRITING!!! I've never had a problem, because I do have my
entire contract in writing and I know exactly where it's filed, along with the
contracts I have with many other companies. NEVER leave a contract to what
the parties remember saying because there will always be a different
interpretation of what was agreed on!!
