Best Buy is running a good sale on the Motorola V551. Buy one for $50
and receive another free with sign-up. My problem is that my Best Buy
in Prescott doesn't have any Cingular phones yet, and has practically
no information on the plans, etc. Has anyone out there taken
advantage of this sale in the Phoenix area? I would like to find out
something about it before I drive 180 miles.

Why not call the store(s) before driving the 180 miles?

I tried that, but didn't get far with their automated answering
system. I guess I can just try an unrelated department and see if
    they will transfer me.

just keep pressing zero. Or usually press no button, and eventually
they'll assume you're on a rotary phone and answer.

You've obviously never tried to call a Best Buy store. Even if you do
get through to a human, it'll be one of those minimum-wage clerks who
would rather tell you the item you want is out of stock than expend
the effort required to actually check.
