    Hey all,

I just got a nokia 6820 from cingular, and I am wondering if it is
possible to have data connectivity via CSD (GSMdata). I want to beable
to use the internet and only use my minutes if possible. I have found
several posts allover for settings to do this, but none of them
directly apply to the 6820. If anyone has tried this or done it let me
    know.

You have to (1) sign up for a minimum Cingular data plan; (2) ask to have your
account provisioned for CSD; and (3) ask to have the settings "pushed" to your
phone. Then you need to configure your phone or attached device to use CSD to
    connect.

OK, just got off the phone with cingular tech. they say that it is not
possible to add CSD to an account any longer. Is there a posibility of
it being a geographical issue? I am in Southwestern PA, Former Att
customer. Am I going about this correctly, or am i missing something.

CSD isn't available separately -- add a (minimum) GPRS data package (which
includes CSD), and then ask to have CSD provisioned.

Ok, I tried again. The Rep that I spoke to, said that CSD is not
available in my area, I am in the great lakes zone, and she says that
it has never been available. I told here, that people on cingular in
other parts of the country had this, and i know that my phone supports
it. She said that it is not possible on the network. PS, I do already
    have a GPRS account setup.

    are there any other options?
