After hours with CS and searching on usenet and Howard I got these to work.
They use Cingular servers and don't put any extra messages in body of email.
    I'm in RDU area.

    connection type: GPRS
    apn address: [email protected]

These are exactly the same settings used on two different V551 handsets
I have here, and they both work perfectly. One of them didn't until I
had CS fix the service provisioning for it.

What changes would need to be made to access a comcast pop3 account?

Those settings have no bearing on MMS, just email.

If it took them 3 whole weeks to fix my Google SMS issue, how long
will it take the worthless CS to fix this email thing?

Because let's face it, you can list a detailed config as above, but,
if I can't get it to work, because I'm not sure if you literally
meant "cing", and it's not, then the instuctions are useless, aren't
    they?

So, has anyone decided what the phones email address is?
    Is it @mobile.mycingular.com or @mycingular.com ?

The other day I was able to send photos, but today I can't.
And, I'm doing it the same way.

I want to be able to read the entire email on my cell, without having
to have it broken down into separate txt messages, that cost me a dime
    each.

IS IT OR IS IT NOT POSSIBLE TO SET UP THE PHONE"S EMAIL TO RECEIVE AN
EMAIL OF 200 OR MORE CHARACTERS IN A SINGLE MESSAGE ?

And yes, I have Media Basic, if that's necessary to have.
AND NO, I'm not looking to use the Web Browser to get to it. I
suspect since my phone has the "Email msg" setup options, that I don't
    need to use the browser.

I hate the worthless way they design this whole system of cell
    phone/data.

It's akin to when cars first came out - they needed to be hand cranked
to be started, AND had a hand lever for manual spark advance.
WHAT BULL****! You don't see that today, do you?
You just put the key in, start your piece of ****, warm it up, and
    GO.

Well why aren't cell phones and computers reqruiing network
communications "more hi - tech "?

They're still 1910 autombile technology, if you ask me, requiring this
    or that configuration.

That was probably a Google issue, not a Cingular issue.

    No.

    >So, has anyone decided what the phones email address is?

    Both work.

    >The other day I was able to send photos, but today I can't.

That's life on the bleeding edge.

    >I want to be able to read the entire email on my cell, without having

    Then use email, not SMS.

    >IS IT OR IS IT NOT POSSIBLE TO SET UP THE PHONE"S EMAIL TO RECEIVE AN

    It is.

    True.

    >I hate the worthless way they design this whole system of cell

    It actually works quite well.

    >It's akin to when cars first came out - they needed to be hand cranked

We'll eventually get there with cellular too. You might want to wait.

    >Well why aren't cell phones and computers reqruiing network
    >communications "more hi - tech "?

Because technology is still moving too rapidly.

    >They're still 1910 autombile technology, if you ask me, requiring this
    >or that configuration.

    So wait.
