Seeing EDGE speeds? According to the map, it is here. According to my V551
that is about to go on eBay, it is not <wink>.

What speeds did you see? The V551 is only EDGE Class 4, and thus is much
slower than other EDGE devices (e.g., GC82), albeit still faster than GPRS.
If you got more than 50 Kbps throughput, then you were on EDGE (actually
EGPRS).

36-38 .. same as with my T616.

That poor even for GPRS. Were you in a marginal signal area (which might
explain the lack of higher speeds)?

Not really poor, but not full signal either. I have also now tried from work
with full signal ( on meter any way) and only achieved 48Kbps. All these
results are from using various sized files from dslreports.com/mspeed.

I personally wouldn't trust dslreports even if paid to do so, because I've
seen how far off it can be. I test speeds with FTP.

I use it a good bit to test a 3Mbps connection, so it should certainly be
reliable enough for a simple GPRS/EDGE connection. FWIW, It doesn't transfer
any file over my (supposed) EDGE connection faster than 5KB/s.

Since I've seen very wide variations on known circuits, I don't think so.

No never said I did. But I do know the mspeed test is accurate to WAY over
EDGE capable speeds. It also correlates with transfer rates and other speed
tests I have tested my connection through my V551 with. At any rate, back to
the original question

With all due respect, you simply can't "know" that, given that I (and others)
have seen wildly incorrect results. You can only "know" that it seems to have
been accurate in *your* tests.

Again, what I *know*, is it gives me exactly the same resuilts as any file
transfers I do through the connection. Again, what I *know* is it gives me a
true reading of my connection speed everytime I have used it through my
wireless connection.
Point being, I am simply looking for someone in Upstate, SC that has seen
EDGE speeds, particularly on MEdia Works, as I am not getting them. I am not
looking for an apologist to try and tell me I am getting the speeds, but my
test methods are inaccurate. I am perfectly capable of testing and verifying
my connections speeds.

That not-so-veiled insult is wrong on all three counts.

I don't need any help setting up my connection. I don't need any help
testing my connection. I am perfectly capable. Like I originally posted, I
need to know if anyone in my area has seen EDGE speeds.
