    ???? Querying Google using your social security number as a key is a bit
    different from posting it on USENET where anybody with Internet access can
    see it and it is archived forever.

    For all you know Osama Bin Laden has just gotten a much needed laugh out of

    Transmitting your SSN in the clear over the public Internet to a public search
    engine is indeed different, but is still a really bad idea. Among many other
    reasons, Google searches aren't private.
