Is there a way to add a line to FamilyTalk without signing up for a 2
year contract? I tried to add a line online (I already have two lines)
and it only gives me the option for buying phones with a 2 year
contract. My contract with cingular expires in August and I really dont
want to get tied down for another 2 years just for adding a line.

Buy an unlocked Cingular phone on eBay. The 2 year contract is to
recover the subsidized cost of the phone.

If you have a compatible phone, call Cingular and they will add it
without extending your contract. You will have to pay all activation
fees, but no contract need be "signed". However, if you have a TDMA
phone, it *may* be a little more difficult because Cingular is trying to
get as many customers as possible transferred to GSM.
