I'm a ATTWS customer on TDMA Digital One Rate.
My phone is starting to fail and given the options I think I'll move to
GSM. We do travel to some locations where GSM is iffy but my wife's
phone is also TDMA and much newer so we'll keep that for the time.
Looking for a basic phone. Just need phone and text messaging. No
need/desire for camera or internet.
I'm leaning towards the Motorola v180 (or v186 if it is out). Both my
wife and I have Motorola clamshell phones (StarTac and v60) and like
them so I thought I'd stay with the same brand.
I've read the info on Phonescoop but thought this group here might have
some additional insights.
Any input appreciated. Thanks.

My V180 works great. I originally wanted to upgrade to the Sony
Ericsson T637 but got the V180 just to check it out. Well, I kept the
V180. The reception is good and the sound quality on both ends is
great. The only things I don't like are that you can set it to vibrate
and ring at the same time (I had a Nokia 3595). When it does vibrate, I
don't feel it most of the time. The battery seems to run out quicker
than my old Nokia 3595. I used to get at least a day more out of my Nokia.
Oh yeah, just a warning. When the display reads "low battery," it means
it. I won't last much longer after that. My nokia would have enough
juice until the end of the day.
Other than that, it's a great phone.
