    i cannot recieve any text messages from anybody other than cingular, i did two days ago and then nothing, i called the service line and the changed my contact recieve number but that did nothing, i can send fine and recive from cingular phones but nothing else. i have a nokia 6230 if that helps, and help from you guys would be awsome

    Yahoo Breaking News Alerts ( Text Messages ) do not work with our Cingular
    account.
    They worked fine when I used Nextel.
    The Store here in Destin found nobodies Cingular phone in the store
    could get Yahoo Text Message Breaking News alerts.
    Works with MediaNet and other Cing phones but like you no others ??

    Does anyone get Yahoo Breaking News Alerts on their Cingular Phone ??

    It depends on the carrier. Verizon doesn't work, and T-Mobile only works
    occasionally. Sprint works most of the time.

    On a high note the carriers are working on a universal SMS protocol.
