I can not get one here (Toledo, oh)! In the cingular store, formerly ATT
they only carry go phone. Can I get a sim card somewhere else or online. I
only need the sim, I have my own phone. I need it primarily to use the
internet on the go. T-mobile, my currant carrier does not offer internet
with prepaid account. Thanks.

There is no such thing as a "Cingular prepaid sim."
The SIM that is used for the prepay customers is
the same type that the post pay customers use.
And it is activated in the same way.
You would go to the store and ask to set up a prepay account.
They will charge you $18 or so dollars (last time I set one up) to set up
the account.
You may, or may not be charged for the sim that you will need for the phone.
All you need is the same sim that the post pay users have.
They should have a stock of them available.
You will give them the IMEI number of the phone, and the sim number.
After they finish setting up the account,
Then put the sim in the phone, and power it up.
After a bit, the phone should reset/be reset,
after the sim has been programmed over the air
and you will be ready to go.
Side note.
Cingular's data access for prepay users is sky high.
$0.03 per KB.
That is about $30, per MB!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Cingular prepaid sim?
The Cingular store here only carry 'go phone" sim cards for $7 as I
mentioned previously! Can I get one of those and have the customer rep on
the phone activated for pre paid instead? In the case of "go phone" all the
credit expiries at the end of the month, as you may know, and that won't
work for me. Thanks.

If it's an AT&T Wireless GoPhone, it will not work. If it's the
Cingular GoPhone, you can use that SIM. A SIM is a SIM is a SIM. The
account billing software is what determines how minutes will be applied
and billed, that's why you don't need a new SIM if you change plans.
I hope this helps.
