Re: when will cingular have a nokia flip phone
I just checked Nokia's website, and they do now have a GSM flip phone
model 6170 that seems to support Cingular's frequencies, but they don't
show it being available for Cingular. Link to phone below:

And, if you go to phonescoop.com, it appears that none of the US carriers
has picked it up, yet. Nor the 6230i. which is the bar phone I'm waiting
for, to upgrade.

There are 3 US carriers that have the Nokia 6170 available, but these
are all regional carriers for the central and some western states.
These carriers are: Centennial Wireless, Edge Wireless, and i wireless.

Nokia does have some flip phones. I personally have owned the nokia 6170
flip phone. It's a sweet phone. There are two versions. The nokia 6170 and
6170b. Most of the phones on ebay are the 6170 (NOT B). Main difference
being the 6170 (NOT B) is not 850mhz while the 6170b is.
I had the non-b. Worked very well, but i don't ever roam on 850mhz. (Nor do
i even have cingular/att). T-mobile is rumored to start using a nokia flip
but it's not as nice as the 6170. Personally i think it's really ugly.

Elmo, this is from Mr. Fred Hall, aka Mr. Arends, our friendly imposter.
You should know I never use bad language. Bad language is the last
refuge for folks that cant prove their argument any other way.
Check where I am posting from. I am no longer on Earthlink. Arends still
is.

guess again, fudge packer boy. By the way, if mr. Arends works for
boeing, I'm sure they could *CARE LESS* about what he does on the
internet on his own time. Look at his time stamps.
God, you're just obsessed with him aren't you. what? in love philly?

Looks like Nokia might give the Razr some competition. Huh?

Re: when will cingular have a nokia flip phone
I looked on phonescoop.com, and it appears that some Nokia 6170 users
are already using the Nokia 6170 with Cingular service (Check out
reader reviews, and forums for the 6170 on phonescoop.com). They are
buying the phones on e-bay. I can't verify this but it certainly seems
that it should work - that is if you can get Cingular to activate the
phone.

If it's unlocked, and you have a working Cingular sim, Cingular does not
have to activate it.

I'm partial to slides, like my 8890.
I'm curious about the N91. I just saw a photo in a trade magazine.
