    Upside:

    * Total revenue up 4.6% over prior quarter
    * Profit of $147m for 2Q FY2005
    * Monthly churn of 2.2% - down for the 3rd consecutive quarter.
    * Added 1.1m net subscribers.
    * Almost all of the 4.4m new subscribers were postpaid.
    * 7% of subscriber base switched from TDMA to GSM in the quarter.
    * GSM carried 9 out of every 10 minutes of calls on the combined network.
    * ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) up 1.7% over prior quarter to $50.75.
    * Data ARPU continues strong growth.
    * OIBDA Margin improved over prior quarter.
    * Integration on schedule.

    Downside:

    * Still a loss of $93m over the first six months of this year.
    * 22 per cent of subscribers have yet to switch from TDMA to GSM.
    * Integration still has far to go.

    There are always those with problems, particular those hanging on to TDMA
    plans. My own experience with Cingular GSM post merger has been very good.

    Have you tried this (while using a computer not affiliated with or
    directly connected to a Cingular server or through a VPN)? Go to
    Cingular's home page: www.cingular.com/indexa Then click on the link
    for 'Former AT&T Wireless Customers' in the lower right hand side of
    the page. Do you get to an active page, or a dead link like I and many
    others do?

    If you go to the 'Online Account Access' message board in the forum I
    mentioned above, you will see many cannot even log into their accounts.

    If you go to the 'Network Coverage' message board in the forum I
    mentioned above, you'll read that Cingular has been removing access to
    T-Mobile's GSM towers - at least in some locations, resulting in some
    not having access to a usable cell tower, who had access before.

    Just paid my bill, the other night, using that link. What you describe
    sounds more like a Net problem, rather than a Cingular/ATT problem.

    I believe it is a location based problem, a problem depending upon
    which physical server you log into or through. This problem has
    existed for at least the last couple of weeks, but Cingular is not
    putting the right people on it to get it fixed.

    You may want to call your ISP. It redirects fine for me, meaning the site
    and link are not broken. It sounds like your ISP either has a router problem
    or dns problem.

    Explain how this is a "location based problem." If anything, a server
    cluster should load balance, not assign you a particular server based on
    your physical location. The only problem that WOULD be physically
    related is a bad DNS table at your particular ISP, that would prevent
    pages on certain servers from loading.

    In my particular case, I've been away from home for awhile, and I have
    been using Cingular's Connection Manager software on my laptop, with
    Cingular's Laptop Connect EDGE/GPRS service, through a Sony Ericsson
    GC83 PC Card to try and access the above page. So I am Cingular all
    the way!

    Actually, I am not a former AT&T customer that was subsumed by
    Cingular. I came to Cingular from Nextel in February of this year. I
    was trying to help AT&T customers who could not log in. There are a
    number of them having this problem, and I believe very few are using a
    cellular connection as I am.

    I had a very simular problem with Nextel once in trying to log-in to my
    account there. At the time, I was again away from home, and was using
    Nextel's PacketStream Gold software on my laptop in a tethered
    connection through my i60c cell phone. I could get to Nextel's home
    page, but I could not access the account log-in page. When I came home
    however, I WAS able to log-on through my DSL connection, using the same
    laptop, with no problem. If I tried my cell connection at home, I
    still couldn't get to the log-on page. This problem persisted for 3-4
    weeks, then suddenly it was fixed. I was hounding Nextel to fix it,
    but the right technical person wasn't receiving my message.

    OK, so what I see here with the problem link (Former AT&T Wireless
    Customers) on Cingular's home page, is that it starts off as
    www.cingular.com/ocs , then it redirects to www.attwireless.com - which
    is a dead link for me. I can type www.attwireless.com in my browser,
    and I show connecting to: www.attwireless.com , but nothing ever loads,
    the page just times out.

    One further note, one poster named wilcre posted on
    http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board...ssage.id=27006
    (2) different links. The first one was www.cingular.com/ocs , the
    second was https://onlinecare.cingular.com/my-account/ . For me, I can
    access his second link, but not the first one. But my question is: why
    isn't this the link on Cingular.com's home page?

    Yes, I believe there is a bad DNS table somewhere, that some of the
    users are going to. That has been my belief all along. But to get
    someone at Cingular to admit to and fix the problem - that is a problem
    in itself (Just as it was at Nextel). I am not a Network Engineer, or
    a network guru, but I do have a knack for troubleshooting problems, and
    I believe I have some understanding of what's going on here.

    I'm curious, you users who say you can log-in, if you have Netscape or
    Firefox, look at the bottom bar of the browser when you click on the
    above link, and see if you ever see www.attwireless.com appear - even
    if momentarily.
