usb sync for LG 1400...what can I do?

I have seen all kinds of ads for phone data cables.

most say something like this one.

Now you can access and synchronize your phone book contacts, e-mails,
and appointments, change ring tones and background pictures, and take
advantage of other useful applications!


but they then mention that it comes with a ringtone and wallpaper cd.

so what do I need to backup and edit my phonebook from my computer.

This is all I need. Funny all I need is a phone but no one makes one
anymore LOL



thanks for any info...trying to get something cheap since all I need
to do is edit phone list ...
