Hi:
Just discovered that when I send a text message to someone (I rarely send
text messages) that I am not only charged .10 but hit for 1 minute airtime.
Does this sound right?

Yes to the $.10 message charge. No to the 1 minute airtime charge. You
are probably looking at the online record which does make it look like
there is a 1 minute charge but don't worry there really isn't.
If you do want to send and/or receive text messages there are various
plans which would bring the price down. Take a look at them and see if
any meet your needs.
