Subject: HTML/Web browser for Java cell phones (WebViewer)

    > WebViewer <http://www.reqwireless.com/webviewer.html>

I visit the page, but there's nothing clickable there.

A little browsing in the FAQ (why isn't this on the pages?)

Reqwireless WebViewer, EmailViewer, HotViewer, and GotMailViewer are no
    longer available for purchase.

Darn... I missed the unlimited MediaWorks, and now I've missed the web
    viewer.
I'm getting frustrated trying to look up traffic info, or airline status,
or read my email with the standard WAP browser. Some sites work.
Some sites have a link that, once discovered, can be used.

A squirrel mail extension for WAP would be nice. A different WebViewer
    would be nice.

Any clue why they stopped selling it?

RequireWireless went under. Most of us are using OPERA mini as an HTML phone browser.

Browsing what's left of RequireWireless, it looks like they received and
translated every page. That would seem like a pretty high processing and
network burden. John's copy must still work, or he might have made a
comment recently. He mentioned that he used a browser, but hasn't given
the name or web site recently.

I saw the Opera page, but I haven't tried that yet. I see that the
pre-processing is done by an Opera partner at no cost, which begs the
question of how that business model is going to survive.

Now I remember why I stopped...
It says that Opera Mini is only available in Norway.
Ignoring that, and looking at the manual download instructions, I don't see
my Motorola V551 listed, although there are some Motorola V5xx and 6xx
    models.

Reqwireless WebViewer still works fine for me (now on a Cingular-branded
    Motorola V551). Likewise Reqwireless EmailViewer.

    According to the FAQ <http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/operamini/faq/>,
"Opera Software ASA provides the server processing service."

Regardless, there's currently no legitimate way to use Opera Mini unless
    you're a TV2 subscriber in Norway.

Then you all must live in Norway, because there's currently no legitimate way
to use Opera Mini unless you're a TV2 subscriber in Norway.

Although the legitimate download is blocked for those outside of Norway (and
apparently some nearby areas), the V551 is recognized and accepted by the
    Opera Mini server.

True, but it is unlimited data, and separate message packages are available.

    More pages to add ;-(
    https://www.cingular.com/media/text_messaging_purchase
    https://www.cingular.com/media/multi...aging_purchase

The change from unlimited data to 5MB data on the MediaWorks package is
    inconvenient.
