SIM card swap between T637 and V551

I am a current Cingular GSM customer using the Motorola V551. I picked
up a Sony T637 that is branded AT&T. I took my SIM card out of the 551
and put it into the 637 and got a message that said "Insert correct SIM
card" or something like that.

Should I expect this to work?

The AT&T-branded T637 is probably subsidy locked to AT&T as well. So any
SIM other than AT&T will be rejected unless you can get the phone
unlocked.

After you unlock the Sony.
