Hello,
My fiance got a text message today from Cingular saying that she can now
make phone calls while in other countries.
We have family share, and I checked online at our account, and found that
she had the following new features added to her line:
/INTLDIALINGALLOWED $0.00
/INTLRM MEX/CAN $.79 $0.00
/INTLRM W.EUR $1.29 $0.00
/INTLRM AUSTRALIA $1.69 $0.00
/INTLRMS/C AM/CAR $1.99 $0.00
/INTLRME.EU AS/PA $1.99 $0.00
/INTLRMMIDE/AFR $2.49 $0.00
/INTLRM PREMIUM $3.99 $0.00
/INTL ROAM TOLL N/C $0.00
Anyone else get this? Why would they add it without us asking for it, and
why did they add it to her line only? Haven't called CS yet.

International dialing is not a feature that you are given automatically.
Due to the amount of fraud that happens with dialing internationally this is
a feature that must be requested in most cases - or - if tenure and credit
history indicate that the user is a "safe bet"

Is that to say that if somebody is under a Cingular contract, the monthly rate
can suddenly jump with no notice?

Re: Unsolicited International Roaming?
She's probably had her service 3-6 months, right? That is the usually
a requirement for international services to be added. New lines can't
get them (except corporate lines), so maybe her credit was good enough
and she passed the required wait period.

Re: Unsolicited International Roaming?
We have had the family share account for 1 year and 1 month all under my
name. Before then when her phone was transfered to my account, she had it
for over 2 years. Her name is not on my account and they should not be
checking her credit at this point.
Your point is definately information I did not know prior, but I'm quite
convinced that this is happening here.

I missed the part about the "0.00" column being the charge and the other column
being something else.
Personally, the first thing I'd do with something like that is get it removed
from my account. Seems like it's mainly just more exposure if/when somebody
gets 'hold of your unlocked phone.

I had international calling as part of my plan when I signed up. It was
part of my North American plan.
