I have a new family talk account with Cingular. Just paid my first partial
month's bill. When I log onto My Account and look at the Data Summary tab it
states that I have 5120 "included minutes" on the main line and "1024" on
the share lines. Are "included minutes" free? I have not signed up for any
    of the MediaNet packages.

Re: Data Usage on my bill?

    Correction.
It does not say "Included Minutes" but rather just "Included". This, along
with "Used" and "Remaining" and "Overage", appears in the section of Data
    Summary entitled "Internet & Downloads".

Re: Data Usage on my bill? (Does Anyone Know???)

Is there some kind of promo that gives free data usage to new customers? Or
is it an error on Cingular's part? I have these included minutes on my
account's data summary and yet my service summary says MediaNet 1cent per
    Kb.

And a word of advice here. If one of the people that has one of the phones
is a young female I want to make sure you know that she can download
ringtones to the phone and it may cost you additional money.

"Just sign up for any MEdia Net plan before ..."
    Mel said he was pay-as-you-go.
As a new customer, he might have MediaBasic, which might get the free
    usage.

In the month that I had free usage on a MEdiaNet package, it was clearly
noted as a promo package in myaccount.cingular.com. The layout of that
section was poor, with the words slopping over from one column to another,
    but I could see it.

    Promotion for MEdiaNet1mb (Expires on 0 /29/2005)|07 17-07/29 |2. 6 |

The posted usage detail refers to the bundle as MEdiaNet, but the measured
usage as "Wireless Express", harkening back to John's Unlimited Wireless
    Express package.
