I've read a whole lot of posts here about TDMA being old and how moving from
cheaper AT&T plans to more expensive Cingular plans is not the first choice
    of many posters.

I'm still on a low-cost AT&T plan with an old Nokia 5165 TDMA phone.
Is there a SIM somewhere inside this phone that I can salvage to place in a
GSM phone so I can keep my AT&T plan?

    OR

Is there anything I can do, any phone I can buy, any option I have for
keeping my AT&T plan with a new phone?

    Thanks

Old, but a real reliable workhorse. It certainly redefines "built like a
    brick **** house"

No, TDMA phones don't have SIMs.

Buy an AT&T or unlocked TDMA phone on eBay, and ask to have it activated as a
    replacement for your existing phone.
