All of a sudden we are being charged for something called eWallet. $10.00
extra a month for something we don't even know what it is. I don't know why
we have it or what it's for and Cingular says they CANNOT take it off.
They say you have to go to ewallet and enter a pin code to remove it. We
don't have a pin code!! We never signed up for any such thing so we have no
info at all.
Anyone have this experience and know how to resolve it, PLEASE??
Thanks,
Sarge

The only eWallet application I know of is from Ilium Software. It is an
application that is designed to securely store sensitive information (credit
card details, passwords, etc.) on a PDA. Their web site is at:
http://www.iliumsoft.com/site/ew/ewallet.htm . Does it look familiar?

No sir. Never saw that before and all we have are phones, no PDAs. I think
it hit us from a spam mail to the phone somehow. For awhile we were getting
an awful lot of spam via the cell phones. This is really frustrating to pay
for something we did not buy or sign up for. We might have to switch to
Verizon or something to get rid of it.

I thought ewallet was the new crap that lets you use your
phone to pay for stuff from vending machines etc. It's big
in korea (or someplace in that neighborhood), supposed to
make make pocket change obsolete.
someone rolled out a deal like that here in dallas a month
ago, was all over the tv news. if i see it again, i'll
catch the name and post it. it might have involved rfid
tags hooked to your cell phone. remember, toll tag came
from a dallas company and texas insts. so now they can
steal your phone and do drive-by lunches ;-)

Re: eWallet!
Hi,
This isn't the eWallet from Ilium. Ilium's eWallet is a password
management program. What you are seeing is a cingular thing used to buy
ringtones and such.

Then why will cingular not take it off? They deny that it is theirs.

finally caught the ad on tv -
it is "pay pass" offered by mastercard. just an rfid tag
you wave at a small box instead of using a regular credit
card. did not involve a cell phone.
