V551 - V557 data cable compatability

Does anyone know if the Motorola V551 and the V557 can use the same data
cable? They appear to be the exact same phone.

Yes they use the same data cable. The V557 is an updated version of
the V551. Adding the streaming media and a slight change of color on
the outer cover from blue to gray.

I order alot from cutepcs but they only have things for the V551.

That is very expensive for the data cable and software.
You can get it on Ebay for less then half of that.

well, ebay is a whole 'nother discussion, lets not go there, thanx for the
idea tho.

Could anyone please answer my question? I need to know if I should order
this kit or not, I need it asap. TIA again.

the V557 shown is the wrong pic and different cable number than the
V551, I think that's just a mistake. best to call them for correct
cable part number.

The software will work on the V557 (although an on-line update may be

Yes they are both the same cable. the same chargers work also.
