Interesting little toy here for $600. I guess you could do it for the
same cost using a cheap laptop, but this has all the support
applications with it.

[snipped for their website]
1. Insert a cellular PC Card modem into your Junxion Box™
2. Connect to the Junxion Box using Ethernet or Wi-Fi
3. Use the wireless Internet or share a local area network
The Junxion Box enables any device with Ethernet or Wi-Fi to more easily
and cost-effectively connect with the latest data services from leading
U.S. wireless carriers.
As the early market leader in transportable wireless WAN routers,
Junxion supports a wide range of enterprise and government customer

Where? data connection fail-over, landline replacement, mobile work
groups, event connectivity, first responders, retail POS, telemetry,
remote security, public/private transit, fleet vehicles.

Re: Junxion box for cellular data connection card
I almost bought one of these back in November, I spent a great
deal of time on the phone with a very knowledgeable vendor
and it really seemed like this box was perfect for what I needed.
Basically I had opened a new software dev. office and Verizon
was dragging its heels getting DSL in, so I bought an EVDO
card and shared it out so everyone else could get on the network.
I liked the idea of having a Junxion so that I could take my laptop
home without taking the network home with me. However I
did learn at the time that Linksys had a product coming out
that would do the same thing "any time now". Verizon finally
got my DSL installed though within the 15 day window I had
to return the EVDO card, so I just did that instead. By now
I imagine the linksys device is out, and as I recall it was
about 1/3rd the price of the Junxion.

Re: Junxion box for cellular data connection card
My mistake, it was Kyocera, not Linksys. The Kyocera KR-1
sells for about $250. Check out reviews at www.evdoinfo.com

Re: Junxion box for cellular data connection card
I can do the same on my Kyocera KR-1. It retails for about $300 but, if
ordered from www.kyocera.com, you get a 15% discount. Bottom line cost
is $255, much better than the Junxion Box at $600 or more.
By the way, the Kyocera KR-1works great.

I think the Linksys U.S.A. box was released at CITA this month.
The version sold in Europe was the equivalent of less than $200.
