Someone posted something intrinsic problem with the Cingular Connection
Manager and to run Motorola Phone Tools just once.

I want to avoid using the Phone Tools as it hoses all the other
connectoids I built and have to use the Cingular Connection Manager to
    fix them.

    Anyone have that information?

    Phone Tools doesn't "hose" anything.

Fact #1 - Phones tools works great on laptop #1. I can use connect by
double clicking on the manually built DUN, the Cincgular Connection
Manger built DUN and the Phone Tools built DUN.

Fact #2 - Phones tools works great on laptop #2. Same as it does on
    laptop #1

Fact #3 - A manually built Windows DUN worked with no problems on laptop
    #3 before installing Phone Tools.

Fact #4 - Installed Phone Tools and no DUN will work, keep getting Error
    734. Have to connect at least once from the Phone Tools application and
then I can connect all I want by simply clicking on the Phone Tools
built DUN without having to launch Phone Tools. The manually built DUN
and Cingular Connection Manager built DUN will not work at all. If I
reboot the laptop, I have to use Phone Tools at least once before I can
    using the DUN directly

Fact #5 - Deleted all the DUNs built and uninstalled Phone Tools, then
manually built a new DUN and had CCM build a new DUN, They work just fine.

Fact #6 - Installed Phone Tools and ran it once to create a Phone Tools
DUN. The manually built DUN and CCM built DUN give the 734 Error.

Fact #7 - Deleted the Phone Tools built DUN and uninstalled Phone Tools
again, then manually built a DUN as well as a CCM DUN. Am connecting
just fine now by clicking on the manually built DUN or the Cingular
built DUN. I do not intend to use Phone Tools again to create a DUN.

Observation #1 - Creating a DUN on laptop #3 with Phone Tools prevents
the other connectoids from working properly. It also requires Phone
Tools be used at least once to make a connection, before using the Phone
    Tools DUN to connect.

Observation #2 - This issue is unique to laptop #3 and therefore related
to some configuration that differs from laptop #1 and #2.

Conclusion #1 - Phone Tools will not work on laptop #3 for whatever the
reason. Its hoses the connectoids on my particular laptop #3.

The fact it works fine on your laptop and my other two laptops is a moot
point. The question I posed was what issue does Phone Tools fix that the
    Cingular Connection Manager causes.

    Re: Cingular Connection Manager issues

Change the phone number you dial in Connection Manager to *99***3#

This should correct the 734 error

    Already been doing that.

I have not created another Phone Tools DUN yet and my manually built DUN
has been working two days now every time I start it up. Will wait
another two days to make sure its stable and then run Phone Tools and
    see what happens.

Just for grins, I went back and changed my manually created DUN to 3#
and got the 734 error, changed it back to 1# and it works.

Nevermind, it was Navas that posted something about that.
