Question for John Navas
John,
You have so many posts here and respond to most inquiries with informative
and useful information. Do you constantly monitor the forum? Do you have
your own cell phone store that sells Cingular service, or are you employed
directly by Cingular to ensure that folks get good information regarding
Cingular phone and service? Inquiring minds want to know.

Re: Question for John Navas
It seems that John dedicates a very significant amount of time to replying
to questions and posting information in this newsgroup. I am trying to
understand how he does this. Maybe he is independently wealthy, doesn't have
a day job, or is retired and this newsgoup is a hobby.

I have no connection to Cingular other than as a paying customer. I've
gotten a wealth of useful information from Internet, and am
old-fashioned enough to believe in giving back. I'm self-employed with
a fairly irregular schedule, so there are times when I can post
frequently, and times when I can't.

Alright ... so what?
You appear to be on a blatant attempt to TROLL.

You are not going to get a flat tire or busted radiator hose in a
"popular recreation area".

In California, many of the most popular recreation areas have no digital
coverage, including ones that are not very far from the urban areas. I
can go less than ten miles from my house, into a popular county park,
and while there is CDMA at the park headquarters, there is no GSM at
all, and no digital of any kind once you get off onto the popular trails.
But it's not just _in_ the recreation area, it's on the road to them as
well. I don't expect any of the carriers to try to cover all the areas
currently covered by AMPS, with digital, it's just financially
impossible for them. OTOH, it'd be nice if they kept the AMPS turned on
in these areas, since that's all there is.
Navas lies about AMPS coverage because he shills for Cingular, and
Cingular has never had AMPS coverage in California. So he feels
obligated to say anything that will make it appear as if AMPS coverage
doesn't give you much extra in terms of rural coverage, but of course
he's lying.

Why not?
In any event, I have a PLB, which has far better coverage than any
mobile phone.
Arguing about which incomplete solution is better is silly.

Actually they do, as I wrote.

In fact digital coverage is being expanded rapidly.

Re: Question for John Navas
There is no Troll here, just a curiosity regarding how John finds the time
to post thousands of messages that promote Cingular and whether he is paid
to do so. If a person is paid and therefore is a shill, then I wouldn't take
any information seriously that was posted by that person. Since he is not a
shill, he has nothing to gain and therefore I would assume that he is
posting credible information based upon experience. He is definitely King of
this newsgroup.

Or in your case, "those who do not have evidence" will claim their own
experience is the evidence, and everyone else's evidence as unsupported
anecdotal hearsay. That's an opinion, but documented fact.

My take on this is Mij is trying to corner JN into disclosing the
motivation for his agenda.
We already know his agenda includes dismissing anything he can't Google
any supporting evidence as rubbish. We also know he has to show he has a
better deal, phone, service, coverage, etc. than anyone else. You have a
problem - its not a problem in his area (if Media Whatever is down in
New York, he will point out its working in the Bay area, which is
totally meaningless information to the person having the issue). We
further know that his experiences are sufficient proof, even when it
conflicts with Googled evidence. And even further...we know he is not a
telecommunications professional, not even an armature - seeing a
cellular tech working at a cell site and having a conversation with him
does not make one an expert in the industry.

So are you a telecommunications "armature"?

This is actually nothing more than a personal opinion that can not be backed
up by any authoritative source. It borders on a lie because Novice has been
asked to back this claim up on many ocassions and refused.
