I'm not sure if this is the correct group for this question, if not
please point me to one that might be better. I've just upgraded to
Cingular GSM and a newer phone (LG CG300). Now ringtones have become an
    option.

I have heard ringtones can be created from midi files. I found a
program that will convert between midi and other formats. According to
my phone's manual, it support iMelody.

I have a couple of questions related to creating ringtones:

    1) How big a file should I be looking at? One midi I was going to
convert is 10k and when converted to iMelody it is 8k. Is that too large?

    2) How do I get the ringtone on to the phone? I can send SMS messages
but they are limited to a couple of hundred characters.

    Thanks for any information,

    Steve

Thanks for the reply. Assuming my phone supports MMS and WAP, how do I
go about sending the file to the phone? Is there a web site that
supports sending MMS? How can I make a download available via WAP? Is
it just creating an html page that follows certain guidelines?

    Thanks,

    Steve

The FAQ below tells you (1) how to use the Cingular MMS gateway and (2)
    about free WAP download sites.

Why not share with the group rather than search your site and git
    "hits" for your site.

    Like many groups...
    ask here
    GET REPLY here. Not "links".

Hits don't matter on my site. It's there to help people like you. Took
a hell of a lot of work. Must I invest even more time because you can't
    be bothered to look?

    Suit yourself. I'm done.
