I just got a Cingular 3125 and one of the first features I wanted to
set up was dialing by Voice Tag.
The instruction manual (which only comes on the CD in .pdf form, no
hardcopy book included!!) tells you to
1. Open the flip
2. "Ppress and hold the volume down key until you hear a beep"
3. Speak the Voice Tag
The above procedure accomplished two things, turning the volume down
while increasing my frustration level tremendously!!!
After experimenting with this for a little time, I found out this is a
mistake in the manual.
To use the Voice Tag feature:
1. Open the flip
2. Press the "Comm Manager" key twice rapidly
3. Speak the Voice Tag
Just wanted to pass this along!

Phone Manual, was re Cingular 3125 - Voice Tag Usage - Error in Manual
My experience with Nokia, Motorola, and Sony-Ericson Cingular phones is
that the manual describes the phone as manufactured, not the phone, as
modified by Cingular, that you have in your hand. Apparently there are
no manuals for the phones Cingular sells - each customer is supposed
to figure it out by himself. Maybe there should be Wikipedia pages
for each phone model for each cell phone company.

Re: Cingular 3125 - Voice Tag Usage - Error in Manual
Sounds like you were pretty mad, Cingular does a horrible job with
their branded phones.... be thankful you didn't call their support you
would have been boiling over because they want to put their name on the
products, but they don't want to support them as a phone vendor.
The 2125 and 8125 also come with the manual on the CD-ROM and only a
Quick Start printed manual.
Now that the frustration is pased, how do you like your new phone?
I highly recommend picking up a copy of the current issue of
PocketPC and SmartPhone Magazine:
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/
As a gadget nut I've made a lot of impulse purchases over the years, a
lot of times the novelity wears off within a month or two, my Windows
Mobile phone has actually paid off quick a few times, I've had no
regrets and I'm so happy with it I just wish Cingular would do a better
job support it and I wish the 8125 came in a bit smaller form.

The manual for the Cingular 3125 is buried on the CD that came with
the phone. Here's a link to the user's manual for the 3125 on HTC's
website:
http://www.htcamerica.net/support/cingular_3125.html
The HTC site also provides Software (ROM) Updates updates for
downloading. This is a good site to bookmark.
