Unlimited Texing.... EVER?

Greetings!

I've been lurking for a while and have a question about Cingular's text
message plans. I've got several friends who have Cingular and have
unlimited text messaging (they claim it's $7.99/mo). Cingular tells me
it's not available. I'm thinking the reason MAY be because I'm on a
family plan and my friends are on individual plans, but Cingular won't
tell me. (you know, the usual run-around).

Anyone have a definitive answer? Do I need to get 3 individual plans
instead of a family plan? Do I have to beg in a certain pitch? Do I
have to talk to the correct person while standing on one leg?

AFAIK there is no such option or package. The closest you can get is
MEdia Max 3000 ($40/month), which is an average of 100 messages/day
(plus Unlimited MEdia Net). MEdia Works would give you 1000 messages
(average of 33/day) for $15/month (plus 5 MB data).

I haven't seen such a package and I was pricing plans closely a few months
back. Perhaps Cingular offers a deal for unlimitted in-network texting?
Verizon offers such a package; $10 for 500 text messages and unlimitted IN
text messages. I believe T-Mobile also has an unlimitted text messaging plan.
