Nowadays, you have to be very wary of going to a website that's a
'prank'. The bastards are making websites that do driveby virus
installation. Your PC ends up becoming another bot on a botnet. Or
worse, it installs a key logger and your identity gets stolen, along
with your bank account.

Melvin's identity has been stolen 3 times in 2006. Melvin is Melvin
Schultz, my computer alter ego. Melvin has a fake bank account, fake
passport number, fake telephone number (the local computer fraud cops),
fake SSN and 3 fake credit cards with very high limits.
When you get a new computer, register it in your Melvin's name with Micro
$not. Melvin gets a lot of offers all the time from all over to his gmail
email account...(c;
NEVER put YOU into a computer that's connected to the net. What, are you
crazy?....(c; Oh, NEVER let the damned bankers give you a DEBIT card,
either! CREDIT card money can get stolen....but NOONE gets into my bank
account with a DEBIT card or BANK MACHINE.

windows users, apparently, feel inferior and that want mac users to
come down to their level.
i use both a mac powerbook and a powerful vista notebook. they are
both functional. the windows machine needs aggressive anti-viris,
worm, etc. protection. the mac does not.

From the site:
Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant for Sophos, said: "Some
owners of Mac computers have held the belief that Mac OS X is
incapable of harbouring computer viruses, but Leap-A will leave them
shell-shocked, as it shows that the malware threat on Mac OS X is
real.
“Apple Mac users need to be just as careful running unknown or
unsolicited code on their computers as their friends and colleagues
running Windows," Cluley added.

Not sure what you meant by "day one," but Macs didn't use PowerPC CPUs
for nearly a decade after (the Mac's) release. The Mac used a Motorola
68k on day one. If you meant day-one of the PPC's release, no kidding
(Apple was part of the alliance, I certainly would have expected them to
use the CPU ASAP).
That said, now that Macs run x86 CPUs I do find it amusing that nearly
all of my Mac friends seem to enjoy running Windows (Parallels, etc.)
more than anything else (or they speak about it a lot). They often
continue to trash MS, even though they have purchased not only Windows,
but extra software just to run it. Kinda hypocritical. <g>

Talk about prank! The fallacy that Macs are immune from viruses and
exploits is so much bull-hocky. Macs (and OS-X) are absolutely no more
impervious to these attacks than are PCs; it is simply that almost all the
exploits are against the PC, which account for 96% of all computers sold.
If Macs were 97% of the computers sold, it would be Macs being attacked and
PC users saying "get a PC". I love the look on the face of a Mac owner that
has brought his/her machine in for a problem, and we tell them it was
infected...they actually believe that their machines are "impervious". This
false sense of security is laugable, and dangerous.
