I purchased a 8525 phone online but not from C$. Of course, to use 3G
with my MediaMax package I need to get ahold of one of those wonderful
USIM cards. Question is, will C$ give me or even sell me one being
that I didn't purchase the phone from them nor signed on to one of
their PDA data packages. I would even be willing to pay $25 for the
new SIM card if I can just so I can get the 3G speeds. And yes, I
live in a 3G area, San Antonio, which is 3G heaven. Any advice?!?
Thanks,
Cranky

Should be able to use your current SIM card, go online and sign up for
MediaMax.

Yea, I already have MediaMax, but I want to take advantage of 3G so I
am wondering if I can just walk into a C$ store and get a 3G SIM card
without them asking me questins or forcing me to a more expensive PDA
Plan.

What SIM do you have now? Cingular 64k SIMs (the ones that don't say 3G)
support 3G according to Cingular Customer Service, and I know they work
on foreign 3G networks when roaming. If you don't have a 64k SIM I assume
they'll give you one since it is to their benefit for your phone to
support ENS.
I'd be interested to know if the 64k SIM doesn't let you use Cingular's
3G service as that would imply that roamers coming to the US won't be
able to use it either.

Now I'm kinda confused. I do have a 64K and have had one for years.
I actually just got it changed out yesterday because I was complaining
about not getting good reception at home on my Ipaq and CSR stated I
probably needed a new SIM card so he switched it out for another 64k.
I guess my question now would be: Do I really need a 3G card or will
my 64k work with 3G?!?
Thanks,
Cranky
