No speaker on the new iPhone? Can this be true?

I keep hearng that Apple's new phone will have no speaker, just a plug
for a headset, which means when you are stuck on hold and want to do
other things or want others to listen in on a call, you can't? Can
this omission be true? Please say I am wrong. This was one of the best
features ona Razr and a lack of one will definitely make me say sorry
on the iPhone. If I am right any plans to correct this in future
phones?

This is where Bluetooth headsets come in.

It has a speaker. If you watch the demo, a soft button comes up to turn
the speaker on and off.

It does have a speaker.

As a $500 WiFi tablet the iPhone will be successful. As a phone that
doesn't even have HSDPA, the first version will be bought in mass
quantities by people that have to have the latest gadget, then future
versions will have improved functionality and will be purchased by
regular people.

You mean as in speakerphone, right? I put the phone on a table and I
can hear my call and talk ... without a mic or headphone. or ear plug

Maybe. Maybe not. Apple has had some notable successes, but it has had
even more notable flops.

A Bluetooth headset is no substitute for a speakerphone.
Especially when the phone can handle only one at a time.
