There are a lot of consumer electronics items that sell to a very
limited market at the introductory price, but to the mass market at a
lower price. While it's true that having to implement a 33% price cut
after only about two months is not what they'd have preferred to have to
do, they still make money at the lower price point.

The early adopters that paid $600 are pretty upset right now, even if
    they won't admit it.

And you got your mind reading ability from where?

All the Early Adopters I spoke to are OK with price drop, they had 2
months to shyow off as first on block with iPhone.

(About 34, and the most negative comment was a lady who said it
took her a few days to get used to the keyboard)

But the rest of us know to ignore the comments of our resident
    anti-Cingular SMS Troll.

LOL, as opposed to ignoring the resident Cingular/iPhone shill?!

_Every_ iPhone buyer is upset, aside from maybe the corporate buyer who
doesn't care about the company's money. What varies is the the level of
their being upset over spending an extra $200 that they didn't have to
spend if they had waited only two months.

When you're an early adopter you _expect_ to pay more, but you also
expect that the price isn't going to crash so soon afterwards buy such a
huge amount (33%). This isn't Apple's fault, they dropped the price to
increase the volumes to the levels they want.
