ah, but i did, also scanned it on an Apple One Scanner probably 10-12
years ago, the only things I didn't do is crop it down and turn it into
a .gif. Yes, it is MY photo, you can't make stuff like that up. That

it was produced a week before the launch in January 1984. trust me, i go

where have you won? you can't provide any information about Adele,
neither can anyone else so I'll give you credit for that. You don't know
you PC history which is self evident. And you don't realize, but that
photo is clearly mine. I still have it in my archives.

so you seem to be failing at every turn. i win each time. so it appears
cozmic doesn't have a clue about what Elmo and I are talking about.

because i'm EGER to learn! if you have inside info I don't know about,
please share it. But when you can't, I think you are a liar. So post
this info, let EVERYONE know, then I might respect you. But so far you

the silence speaks volumes. you and elmo are caught in a lie, so the mac
experts know to leave well enough alone when someone tries to fight
oxford on a topic. elmo picked a poor subject, and can't substantiate
his claim, thus, me and the mac community are having fun hanging him out
    to dry.

he'll end up with some weak claim about smalltalk, but not understand
that apple never used smalltalk in their products so adele never
    mattered in the first place.

i've been posting longer than pretty much anyone currently in CSMA, 1994

"newcomer", so while you have posted before, you are very much an

It's because there is nothing to be found. Adele worked at a research
level "Kinko's", but never had any crucial impact on Apple, Inc.

    A very abbreviated biography:

    http://wiki.cs.uiuc.edu/VisualWorks/Adele+Goldberg

"Dr. Adele Goldberg is currently a founder of Neometron, Inc., a startup
company working towards new forms of Intranet support for dynamic
knowledge management. Previously, she served as Chairman of the Board
and a founder of ParcPlace-Digitalk, Inc. until April, 1996. ParcPlace
created application development environments based on object-oriented
technology and sold to corporate programmers.
Prior to the creation of ParcPlace, Adele received a Ph.D. in
Information Science from the University of Chicago and spent 14 years as
researcher and laboratory manager at the Xerox Palo Alto Research
Center. From 1984-1986, Adele served as president of the ACM, having
previously served as national Secretary and Editor-in-Chief of Computing
    Surveys.

Solely and with others, Adele wrote the definitive books on the
Smalltalk-80 programming system and has authored numerous papers on
project management and analysis methodology using object-oriented
    technology.

Dr. Goldberg edited The History of Personal Workstations, published
jointly by the ACM and Addison-Wesley in 1988 as part of the ACM Press
Book Series on the History of Computing which she organized, and co-
edited Visual Object-Oriented Programming with Margaret Burnett and Ted
    Lewis.

Dr. Goldberg was recipient of the ACM Systems Software Award in 1987
along with Dan Ingalls and Alan Kay, PC Magazine's 1990 Lifetime
Achievement Award for her significant contributions to the personal
computer industry, is a Fellow of the ACM, and was honored in 1995 with
the Reed College Howard Vollum Award for contributions to science and
    technology."

I guess maybe she did contribute to the PC industry. A little more than
the cookies and punch you say were her sole contribution. Idiot.

Here- I'll dumb it down for you. I forgot I was dealing with a third
    grade education.

You say Apple can change industries, but someone else can't, unless they
worked for Apple. Using your own logic (as childish as it is), your
argument about Adele Goldberg ("We know adele never worked for apple, so
by default she could not have contributed anything "crucial" for any
apple product.") would indicate that Apple would not be capable of
changing industries unless they supplied all the product for that
    industry.

Your contention is that Apple never used Smalltalk? That is what you
just typed. I was hoping you would say that!

    http://www.smalltalk.org/alankay.html

"In 1979, the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center developed the first
prototype for a GUI. A young man named Steve Jobs, looking for new ideas
to work into future iterations of the Apple computer, traded US $1
million in stock options to Xerox for a detailed tour of their
facilities and current projects. One of the things Xerox showed Jobs was
the Alto, which sported a GUI and a three-button mouse. When Jobs saw
this prototype, he had an epiphany and set out to bring the GUI to the
    public".

And so did many other people. Smalltalk was just a teaching/research
language, Apple never used it. That idea originated in 1960s with Simula
in Norway. Is Adele Norwegian? Nope! Apple used Clascal to develop the
Lisa. So where does Adele fit in? Nowhere.

Well, you've shown you don't have anything to contribute to the topic.

You just don't want to understand the timeline of events. It's like a

you're finished since you know Adele had nothing to do with Apple or SJ.
So I've caught you in a serious lie, so you are giving up... or "I'm
    finished" as you put it.

Best of luck, please learn next time to research out facts, figures and
history because i'll beat you every time unless you do. I've known all
along what your "proposed secret" was, and knew it was a flimsy
    connection at "best".

In someways i feel you have some direct tie to Adele, but i'm sorry that
she wasn't wise enough to go to Apple when she had a chance and make
something of herself. Now, she's not even a footnote in any history
books, she is just known as the lady that put out milk and cookies when
    Apple came to town.

No- I'm amazed that somebody could possible be a dumb as you.

No- hundreds of others have not served as Chairman of PARC. Hundreds

Again- many people did write the definitive book on the first true GUI.

Well, I remember my mid-thirties, although it was a while ago.

no numbnuts. it pulls up all sorts of hits for usenet posts falling
under newsguy since it's also usenet feed ... so that isn't much of a
    hint.
