    Hi everybody,

I have a little problem with the convertion of video make with Roxio
    Media Manager.

I can convert mpg, avi, etc... video without problem. But when I read
it on my BB I can't stop it in 'real time'
I can't move between the BB reader buttons or cursor.
When I push stop/pause or roll the pearl button, video will stop after
    2sec or more...

This doesn't appear with the MediaCoder Software.

Have somebody the same problem ? What can I do, to resolve it ?

    Thanks.

    Mike,

Nokia's internet tablet team created a neat little JAVA app for Windows
XPSP2 and Vista, to convert any format of video your desktop has a codec
to play into a smaller format MP4 .avi file that saves a lot of memory
card space, yet plays really beautiful video on the Nokia internet
tablets. Many unplayable formats are converted to something the tablet
can play, too, in the process. If your PC is loaded with codecs it will
    convert most anything.

This JAVA app runs from Windows' terminal automatically as it calls in
the JAVA runtime module, so don't be alarmed when the command terminal
box comes up first. Of course, you must have JAVA installed to use it,
but that's not much of an issue on most Windows boxes. After the
command prompt box comes up, it takes a few extra seconds to boot JAVA
runtime and pop up the JAVA control window of this neat little app.

Make several different format copies of the same video, experimenting
around with resolutions, number of passes, video size, etc., to find the
best running size that the BB will render. You shouldn't need but the
very lowest levels of resolutions running at the lower speeds on that
device to render a nice, watchable picture.

As all this is free, you have nothing to lose but some time
experimenting with it. If you find some particular settings that make
the best picture, please post them in answer to this thread so I can
pass on your findings to other BB users asking the same question.

I'm using this JAVA app to convert big videos to small, low resolution
movies to run on my MotoROKR Z6m sellphone, too, with great success.
The picture is acceptable, though to small for these old eyes to watch
for 2 hours straight, at the lowest settings in a 2-pass mode with
"Audio Gain" checked to fix the low audio levels in most DivX movies off
    usenet.

A 2GB microSD in the slidephone stores a LOT of video at these low
resolution rates. It wouldn't play anything, before, because the videos
were just too fast for it to process and render in a timely manner.

download, installation and other instructions are on the webpage. Just
    click them to open.

    Bon App petit!....................pun intended...(c;
