I'm looking for a basic phone to use on AT&T, all I want to do is
talk, not take photo's or check the web. I'm looking to replace my 2
year old Samsung SGH-X497 (basic phone) Anyone know what unit I may
    look at and where?

    Thanks for your time

I've got an LG C1300i which is basic. Doesn't even have speakerphone. Does
have internet and IM but I don't use those much. It's a flip phone.

I got mine at a Cingular store (before it went to AT&T) in Ocean County, NJ
but you might be able to find it at their website.

    HTH,
    Nell

Wall mart. Look at the cheapest go-phone. Take your sim and out of your old
and put it in the new one.

I have a cheap moto flip with nothing on it. paid 35.00 for it new from wall
    mart.
I use it as a backup.

Get the cheapest Nokia that is 3G -- that would probably be the Nokia
    6555 -- free with 2-year contract.

Buy the Motorola V195 from T-Mobile prepaid for $40, then have it
unlocked to use on AT&T. No camera, quad-band, and mini-USB connector
    for power and communications.

I bought two of these to use for world travel, as it's a good basic
    quad-band. It does have bluetooth.

It has a rather high SAR rating though.

LOL, talk about the worst of the worst in terms of prepaid! One of the
highest per minute costs, the highest minimum yearly cost, $3/month
extra for voice mail (everyone else includes it), the shortest
expiration time, no texting, no roaming, and minutes are lost if not
used (they don't roll over as on all other prepaid plans).
