    Hi,

Anyone know an easy (and cheap) way to boost the 3G signal in an apartment
building? I have a great signal all over town (DC) and on my deck but not
in the apartment. I need something that will boost the signal inside and
the only repeaters I can find cost hundreds.

    Open to all ideas.

    Thanks!

Those repeaters that "cost hundreds" work. Probably because they cost
    hundreds.

The only other alternatives I can think of (besides moving, which also costs
"hundreds" if not "thousands") is an external antenna, assuming your phone
has a connector for one, and an adapter to connect a cellular antenna to
your phone is available. That really limits mobility in the house, though.
You could also try changing cell carriers to one who does work in the house.
(Although, if you're under contract, that can cost hundreds as well!)

Forget the cheap magic bullets- like the little antenna boosting stickers
you attach to your phone, or passive repeaters (two antennae connected
together- one inside, one outside, connected by a wire that supposedly
brings outdoor signal inside)- they don't work.

    Good luck!
