Exercise your free speech rights!

Don't ya just love it, some quack judge pulls this free speech crap, yet he
totally ignores the fact that people can DIE because of his crap!

Almost everyone with a phone line pays for emergency 911 service (or has
lifeline service), yet he claims the free speech crap OVERRIDES the ability
of customers to dial 911! (First amendment trumps the 4th, by the fact the
phone line is tied up by telemarketers).

For those that have security systems, that call the police or fire
departments, those calls can not be made if the line is tied up by
telemarketers!

It is a service we PAY for (look at your phone bill, you PAY for emergency
service) that is stolen from us by this judges stupid ruling.

Lets find out if he has an alarm system, and the number for it, and keep it
tied up with annoying calls so that it can't be used! That would fit in with
his ruling, and I'm sure out of 50 million people affected by his stupidity,
we can keep his lines tied up 24/7!

Think about it, according to his ruling *WE* have the free speech right to
tie up both his work and home phone lines!

Right now, we'd rather have Saddam. If you pony him up, I'm sure

Ummm... no disrespect intended, but if you had no power, doesn't that
mean you couldn't use your computer to post messages to newsgroups?
Actually, considering the fact that you in fact DO have power (enough to
use for a luxury like a computer anyway), it seems to me that you have
it better than most Iraqis. Why then, sir, are YOU the one complaining?

And besides that, despite problems in foreign lands, we here in the US
do (or maybe SHOULD, rather) have the right to express our opinions in
whatever manner we see fit, whether
it is through our voices in person or over the internet. Regardless of
what is going on in other parts of the world, we still have that
freedom. And that is part of the reason that America is as progressive a
country as it is, the free exchange of ideas... no matter how trivial it
might seem to others.

However, all that being said, I am not entirely indifferent to the
plight of your people. I am not heartless, and I sympathize with you and
your fellow countrymen, I honestly do. It is my sincere hope that our
troops and our government are doing everything they can to help you
rebuild your country.

P.S. - By the way, not everyone in this country agreed with the war in
the first place. I hope you and all Iraqis realize that, at least to
some extent.

I have an easy out. "Sir, do you realize that you've called a public
pay phone?" Sales men hate that line. They will delete that number
from their files. Doesn't work with computer generated messages.
I give sales people hell for calling my land line. I tell them it is
for emergency use only. Most tele-marketers will back down immediately.
They can and do get sued for endangering the lives of others.
(Provided you had a bonified emergency on hand at the time). Freedom of
speech? I have the freedom to tell them to screw off.

I heard a proposed idea that was actually free, know how they have hunting
seasons on certain animals at certain times? Make the open season on
telemarketers 364 days (can't shoot em on Christmas). Know how they have
pictures of missing kids on milk cartons? Put pix of Telemarketers on beer
cans. That way only people with guns have to spend MONEY on bullets, and if
you really want to thin them out quickly, put a bounty on em! (Use the money
saved by replacing shot up traffic signs to pay the bounties).

We don't particularly need it. A gallon of purified water here doesn't have
a significant difference in price from a gallon of refined gasoline (tap
water here is nasty). But the store occassionally doesn't have enough jugs
of water while the local gas station has yet to ever be out of gas when I
need it. So as it stands, I'd rather not trade a gallon of good water for a
gallon of gas.

You have a right to call him for a purpose. Calling for no reason, time
and time again isn't covered under freedom of speech, it's covered under
harrassment.

Telemarketer's may harrass you, but until they do they have a right to
call and ask if you'd like to buy random item A or B. Once they start
harrassing you, it's a different story, but there's certainly no
comparison to harrassing an appointed Judge for doing what he think's is
'right'.
