Some months ago, I tried to ask them to shut off text messaging completely.
NexTel's response was that it's tied into voicemail, and if they shut off
voicemail, it will stop the text messages too. I didn't want to lose the
voicemail feature, so I have been putting up with the text messaging charges
for the unwanted texts coming in. Have they changed the system setup so that
I can disable text messaging? My contract doesn't even list it as a feature
that I have selected. I can't SEND any text, but these text messages keep
coming in.

FYI, I don't have text messaging services enabled in my contract. It's a
$5/month extra charge, and since I don't use it, I didn't get it. I can't
SEND any text, but I sure as heck am receiving them! Odd! And at $.10 each,
they add up.

I have internet and text messaging and it is just a flat rate... if you are
getting the messages then you are already paying for them... unless you
have some weirdo plan.
