    does cingular charge extra to send messages while i am in canada, if my home
    plan is upstate new york? logical reasoning is that they wont but i just
    wanted to make sure-i will be in a remote area where the closest major city
    is kingston, ontario-do they have gsm service there?

    Being logical - when you travel to a foreign country, you are going to be
    charged roaming and charged extra for virtually all of your services!

    Cost 10 cents per message sent, nothing to recieve on Rogers in Alberta/B.C
    for me.

    I've travelled on all continents using my Cingular phone and never
    been charged extra for SMS. Voice calls are another story.
