I spent the past few days trying to do a port in through Cingular.
After a year of poor service with ATT I decided Cingular might be
a good choice. I tried one Cingular office [Cary, IL] and spent
the day and night getting the runaround. I finally left after
one of their service clowns tried to argue with me that I since
the phone porting is so new I should "expect" that things will
be slow.
I went to another Cingular office [Carpenterville, IL]. I spent
two days getting a runaround. Another idiot showed me a stack of
phones of people waiting for a switchover. He proceeded to try
the same argument route.
In both cases, the idiots were putting the blame on ATT.
I learned my lesson. I walked out on the idiots and went to
Verizon. In a matter of 1 hour the Verizon salesperson had
gotten me the phone and had set up the port in. ATT had not
screwed up: It was the morons at Cingular.
