Does anybody know how to get it to log on? Cingular's tech support
    has sucked with this issue.

When I connect to the internet my phone displays "Phone:_________" and
"PIN_________". I do not know what it is talking about, but I've
tried entering my username for my on-line billing account, my phone
number, and my "wireless nickname" but no matter what it says "login
failed". All I really want to do is download some ringtones for the
    thing. Anybody got any suggestions?

Did you remove the default user name and password in the wap browser
settings menu? also are you attempting to connect via GPRS or GSM (data)?

I'll assume that you don't already have a (free) My Wireless Window account.

    Try this...
    go to cingular.com
hold your mouse over My Account
    now select My Wireless Window
    select Register here
    read the instructions
    fill out the form

You will pick a username and password (4 characters). Use letters and don't
mix numbers and letters. Alpha-numeric combos are difficult to enter
    manually.

Ignore the RIM stuff. You are registering a mobile device (phone). You will
shortly receive a text message on your phone containing a security code. You
will need to enter this code on the same web page to complete registration.

A sucessful registration should eliminate the login prompt. The same
username /password would also work on a manual login screen like you are now
getting. Some handsets ask for phone instead of user. The PIN is always your
password. Your login may also work on other handsets as well (sucess
    varies).

Clear the WAP browser cache if you are having problems after registering.
