    Hi there guys

After some fighting with google, I still cannot come up with the answer to
the SOS CALLS ONLY problem that I have with my T610....there are an awful
lot of posts regarding this problem with SE phones but can't see many
    solutions!

I've tried removing all the other UK networks from the Preferred Networks
list (other than my home network O2 UK of course) but still the problem is
    rife!

After just swapping over from a life of Nokias with none of this problem,
I'm scared I've made the wrong move!

Any suggestions or is it just tough luck?

    Thanks
    Matt

    It's not a problem.
Where nokia would show "no signal", T610 shows "SOS calls only".
It's to let you know that although there is no signal on O2, you can still
make emergency calls if you need to. (other networks will let you use their
    transmitters if it's an emergency)

True, but if it's happening in the same area where he previously had signal
using a Nokia, then it sounds as if the T610 is faulty. I certainly have
never had this problem with my T610.

    Hi there
The issue is that it happens when there should be an o2 signal! Other phones
are all able to achieve one, and are contactable, whereas the SE just
displays SOS CALLS ONLY. It happens mostly if you've touched the phone in
any way, such as when writing a message, or after ending a call, or even
    altering a menu setting,

    What do Software Patents do?
In its current form, they protect only companies with

The t68 and t68i had the same problem and i believe other ericsson phones
before that!! best thing to do is have one o2 sim in a noki and on in your
t610 next to each other. Swap sims and see if it re-occurs, this then
disproves and BTS fault or HLR fault. It then must be the T610.

I had several t68's off orange with this problem, they tried to blame it on
local BTS's been off air or down due to maintenance, then they tried blaming
the HLR. Eventuall I got it through to them that it was the phone. Each
phone seemed to lasy about 4 months before it did it again.

No prolems so far with my new T610, touch wood

Here are 3 more reasons why you'll get that message on your phone:

    1) Your home-operators signal sucks, and your phone can't get connected to
    it
    2) You use a prepaid card, and your phone tries to connect to a
    roaming-operator (when travelling abroad).
    3) You use a stolen phone that is blacklisted.

    That's not it

    Nah
