Do it quicker <wink>. Just push through the sequence relatively quick
without paying attention to what is showing up on your screen at the time.

I think you press the ok button/select button instead of the "*" (atually "*
    a/A" button). Try that one.

< and > refer to the joystick left and right respectively.
the * refers to the button below the 7.
as suggested earlier, just punch in the code without worrying about what
    menu items get selected.
should bring up a "Service" menu, from there, service info --> sw
information. first 6 letters/numbers are the software version (eg. R3C002)

Ehm, I DO have a clue, but I realise now that my formulation wasn't very
good. What I meant was that HE probably pressed the OK/Select button, while
you have to press the * button. IF you press the select button, you get what
he described. Sorry for my formulation, but I don't think it's very polite
to give an answer like that if you don't know who I am. By the way, why do
you mess up the thread by top posting?

That's what I meant :-) Formulation was ambiguous...

forumulation... what the **** are you on?
and whats it got to do with knowing who you are? you replied to usenet with
incorrect information, without a clue. do take more care in the future.

and oh yeh, have a cry about top posting. deal with it.

You are the one who doesn't have a clue...
Mexx is right: AC was pressing the "ok" button instead of the "*" button.
