I dropped my T610 on a concrete floor for the first time and have wrecked
the cover. It doesn't matter how careful I am, I always end up dropping
    every phone I own!

Having the housing changed by a Service Centre is very expensive. I know I
can buy the housing and fit it myself, but will this void the warranty? I'm
sure it probably will, but how would they know it had been done? Unless
there's some kind of seal or something...

    Many thanks in advance.

Buy a case for it that totally encloses the phone, that should help.

    Yup.

    Officially, yes.

There's no seal on the phone, but the screws are supposed to be replaced
after the phone has been openned. Whether anyone would notice or
    not............?

If you need dismantle instructions for the T610, have a look at the
    UselessInfo site in my sig.

Thanks Richard, I thought this may be the case.

Thanks, already seen it. It's the first place I go for dismantle
    instructions :-)

Re: Changing T610 Housing and Warranty

If you are only changing the front and rear fascias, the job is fairly easy

Changing the middle chassis makes it more fiddly

I doubt if a SE service centre would ever spot the new housing providing you
buy a genuine one and not one of the poor quality fakes

Also bear in mind, if you phone is damaged already, they may well already
refuse any warranty repair, if it could be 'blamed' on you dropping it /
misusing it as per their t&c's. They might be less likely to say this if
your phone appeared in very good condition... ;-))
