It has alot of features like bluetooth. You can download pictures and tones
provided the pc has the bluetooth module plugged into it. Or can visit
websites like 'jimmytones' to download thru GPRS. Because of the casing of
the phone, it gets dusty easily. The phone comes with a cloth for this
purpose. My wife is using it too. The only complain is the messaging
interface is not as good as nokia.

Pretty much like your posting then?

Perhaps you'd care to enliighten us all why "it sucks" or are you just
    trolling?

To the OP - The T610 feature wise is probably the most complete phone in its
price range. Build quality is better than most of the current Nokia
handsets, and far superior to the 7250i. If you're used to Nokias, the
interface is different but works well once you've got used to it.
Ringtones, pictures and games can all be uploaded easily to the phone (use
IR or Bluetooth, it's far simpler than a cable).

What? That's streets ahead of the 7210/7250(i) and about the best thing
    about the phone.

I'ver got a T610 and my wife's just got a 7250i and after only four days
I can say I don't like either for very different reasons...
    - Wanna trade fotos? The T610 can send/receive to/from other fones via
IR or an IR/IRDA enabled computer running WindowsXP but the Nokia won't.
You need to install MobiMB (not free) or Nokia PC Suite (>20MB, free)
and use that on a computer and you can forget all about transferring
to/from another phone for free altogether unless you're at a computer.
    - Same goes for ringtones... T610 does it naturally, 72xx is same as
    for pix.
    - The T610 will accept most small midis but the 72xx is bloody
finnicky. You can load midis into PC Suite to adapt them for the
appalling 4-note implementation of polyphony but it's very limited and
the results I've had this weekend don't encourage me to continue.
    - The 72xx display is small compared to the T610 but at least you can
see it in daylight... I've *****ed about this in here before and no-
one's going to convince me it's not an issue. I've had my T610 for 7
months now and my disply is now completely useless out-of-doors due to
the dust that has appeared 'behind' the screen.
    - The 7250 camera is pretty good and so is the T610 but mine's got a
lump of something on the inside of the lens so I don't bother with it.
    - The T610's interface is very nice (if only you could customise all
the joystick moves) but the Nokia one is just naff - it's basically a
slightly updated (colour and small animation) version of what they put
on the 51xx models all those years ago.
    - Looks. Well, the 7210 looks the best IMO, if you want to get one with
a free camera; the 7250's keys are easier to use but the colour schemes
look horrible and I'll bet the wife's looking at new covers already. The
    T610 looks like a brick.

So, to sum it up, I've used a 7210 and a T610 for 6 months each and
tested the 7250i and don't really like any of them. Given that the only
other model I've had my mitts on was a V200 (you wouldn't believe how
crap that is) I don't see a camera-phone I'd bust a gut to get hold of.

This sums it up perfectly :-)

Basically, the T610 is far more feature-rich than the 7250i. The interface
is far different to a Nokia, but in fact I now prefer it. Text messaging
isn't as easy as a Nokia, but is by no means difficult. I can write a text
message just as quickly as on a Nokia now I'm used to it.

Re: what can you do with a T610?

    I am using a T610 myself.
At first before i got it, I thought it's a perfect phone. BUT after using it
for 1/2 a year, i can only say it doesn't even live up to 50% of my
expectation. I was a nokia user before.

    1. Build In Camera.
The build in Camera doesn't take good picture at all. The picture come
out grainy, and not very focus most of the time. Ya, I know u got to hold it
still when taking picture, but it still comes out blurr some of the time.
Don't tell me i got to get a camera stand for it ?? I compared to Nokia
    Phone, T610 fare worse.

    2. Syn Software with Computer.
Unlike Nokia that comes with it's own Phone Manager, T610 doesn't. It
comes with XTNDConnect PC to link up with PC to do phonebook maintainance.
Make use of Outlook to do the phone book maintainance. There's no way you
can backup the entire phone like nokia, there's no way to do SMS
maintainance, no way to set profile from the phone using it. BUT atlas, i
manager to find a freeware, Mobile Agent, that allows u to do these. How
come Sony Erisson doesn't come with a good software to do all these and need
    a third party software ?

    3. Transfer of pictures/ringing tone.
After taking picture with the build in camera, we, of course, would want
to save it somewhere right ? The only way to save it is to send it ONE BY
ONE from the phone interface to your laptop/pc with infra. I am not
complaining about the Infra transfer. I am terribly disappointed that
there's no software that comes with Sony Erisson to COPY all the pictures
from the phone to the pc. you got to browse throught the pictures on the
phone, and send it ONE BY ONE to the PC, and then delete it ONE BY ONE from
the phone itself. Damm user unfriendly. The only way around this is to get
yourself a BLUETOOTH dongle, then u can treat the phone as a external drive,
and do a copy all files to your pc, and then delete all files from it. but
there's NO WAY you can do it without BUYING the bluetooth dongle for your
comptuer. That sums the pc-handphone interface of T610. Sucks BIG TIME. But,
if u don't use it together with a computer, of course, these lousy
    unfeatures won't bother u.

    4. Phone Look and feel.
The phone itself look nice, BUT once u start using it, u'll realise that
this is a display phone, and not a phone to be use. Basically, ur
fingerprint will just smudge the phone surface everytime u use it. Ya, it
comes with a cleaning cloth, but are u going to attach the cloth to the
phone and use it EVERYTIME you finish using the phone ? Or are u going to
wear a glove with you use the phone ? Also , the phone LCD screen casing
basically is flush with the rest of the phone. So when u put it in ur
pocket, the screen get scratches damm easily. Never had that problem with
Nokia phone. And worst of all, the cover is not changable. So it's not a
simple affair of buying a new cover with u scratch the surface of the phone.
Thought of protecting the phone with a plastic phone cover, BAD CHOICE. the
plastic cover rub against the Phone, and causes small round scratches all
    over the phone.

    5. Phone interface
Now, we are not talking about the menu, but the SPEED of the interface.
Can u imagine pressing a button, or maneurvering the joystick, and the
reaction of the action u just did come out 1 sec later ? Just like when a
phone ring, u press to answer the phone, but it doesn't seems to pick up the
call immediately, so u press again and in the end, 1 sec later, ur phone get
answered, and hanged up coz u pressed the button twice. When u try to browse
throught the phone book, the selection scroll a while slower than how u
press the button. So when u see the name u want to dial, u press the dial
button, it still continue to scroll downwards , then DIAL. so u gotta cancel
the call, and then retry that again. U get retarded reaction from the phone
for every action u do. Almost like they using a old P1 computer and try to
run WinXP off it, u get lousy performance, almost to the level of unbearable
    standard.

    6. Handfree set.
The plug in of the handfree sucks. If u try plugging in the handfree
set, then put the phone inside your pocket and talk, u'll realise that the
connector between the phone and the handfree keep coming off. You gotta go
connect again. So does that mean that i gotta hold the phone ON my hand when
    i use the handfree ?
Never had a proble with the nokia older model, the 8310, 8250, 3210, 8210,
etc. Those headphone jack kind. Not too sure about the newer connector,
    those 6610, etc.

    7. Stupid Profile Configuration.
When u plug in the handfree set, it doesn't immediately switch to
handfree, sometimes, u gotta wait up to 5sec before the handfree profile
comes out. Too slow for my liking. Also, when plugging in the handfree set,
u would expect all sound to come from the headset right ? No, u are wrong,
the phone itself will still ring, will still "click" when u take picture,
etc. I mean, it doesn't make sense.

    8. Ringing tone.
The ringing tone is just damm soft. Even at loudest, it's so much softer
than nokia phone ( Put them side by side to compare), that means i get to
miss call more often at crowded and noisy places, compare to my nokia phone
in the past. Also, u notice that T610 ALWAYS ring from a soft volume and
slowly increase the ringing tone to the normal volume after 2-3 Seconds.
There's no way you can set it so that it just ring normally as what the
ringing tone was set to. This mean that you might not hear the phone ring
for the first couple of seconds because it's always ringing so damm bloody
softly, and by the time u hear the ring, the phone had been ringing for 5/6
Seconds already, and before u could answer it, the person on the other end
hang up. I got a lot of cases where the person just hanged up when/before i
answer the call. This happens very much more frequently than when i was
using my previous phone. Might be just me, but then again, i am comparing
the my previous phone and my current T610.

    9. Screen
Try looking at the screen when u are out in the open and the sun's up.
You can't see the screen at all, can't really see even if u try using ur
hand to cover the screen and peeping through them. But then again, this
might be a problem with all coloured phone. BUT i have a nikon digital
camera, that i can actually see very well under the exact same situation. i
compare them side by side. One i can see clearly without using my hand to
cover (nikon camera), the other T610 that i can't see at all, not even when
i use hand to shield the screen from the sun.

Off hand, these are the main things that i find that the phone sucks in.
    Really regretted getting this phone.

My main requirement of the phone would be,
    1. Bluetooth Connection.
    2. Good PC-Phone linkage software so that i can better manage my phone from
the PC, e.g. Maintaining a backup, maintaining sms, phonebook, calendar,
    etc.
    3. Faster User Interface.
    4. Good Casing that doesn't get smudge/scratches easily, or at least can be
    change easily when scratched.
    5. Size ard the same as T610/Nokia 8310, 8210, etc.
Would be good if it comes with these other functions.
    1. Camera with Video.
    2. Can add on memory on the fly (that means don't have to shut down the
phone, take out cover, take out battery, then change mem card).
    3. Polyphonic LOUD ringing tone.

Anyone can tell me which phone actually fit this criteria ?
Somebody told me siemen phone's quite good in this, any siemen's user wanna
    comments ?

Try downloading pictures, ringtones FROM the phone back to the PC.
    Without bluetooth, it's a nightmare.

I thought Nokia's becoming worse, 8310's SMS inbox taking almost 1min-2mins
to open, but T610 let me see the reason why Nokia still sells.
U got a Bad, U got a Worse. Of course u'll stick to Bad.

    Some things u gotta try.
E.g. Both Phone have synchronising, but WAIT till you try the synchronising
    urself.
Then u'll realise what is Synchronising.

Btw, just in case u think that the casing scratches/smudging is due to my
partiularly rough usage, i can say that I never change my usage pattern for
my nokia phone and my T610. BUT the T610 come off looking much worse off
than the nokia phone. In fact as the T610 is newer, i tried taking more care
of it, but it still came off worse. Lousy Phone.

    That's exactly why I bought myself a T630 and not a 7250(i).
Infrared works great for transferring data (photos, midis, themes).
My old phone was a T300, copied my phonebook in no time via infrared.

Seems that SonyEricsson solved the screen problem for the T630. I
personally think that the 7250(i) display is sufficient, but of course
it's nicer to have a large display.

Dirt on the camera lens is something that really sucks.. but that's
just tough luck if you can't clean it.

I have a USB irda device (Mobile Action MA-620) and the Sony software
doesn't recognise it. "It's meant to work with the IR that's normally
fitted to laptops" is what their helpline told me. OK, I use the

Yes, the delayed reaction on the navigation is irksome to say the least.

I only got one of these recently and although I don't have a problem
with the plug coming out, I can see that it could be a problem. Why does
the wire have to come out of the side of the plug? It's not as if having
it coming out of the bottom will get in the way because it does that
    anyway.

Heh, I wondered for bloody ages what the 'three squares' icon at the
display top meant... then realised it indicates you're handsfree. WTF?

Aah yes, that damned daft 'someone may go deaf if the phone rings while
they're sleeping on it' crap. Coupled with my providers max ringing
before going to voicemail it's a right PITA, so I turned off voicemail
    altogether.
Yes, the tones sound great but they are soooo quiet, aren't they? My
wife couldn't believe how quiet the same ringtone file is on my T610
    compared to her 7250i.

I almost regret gettin it too, but after playing with my wife's 7250i, I
see it has fewer shortcomings than the Nokia. Nokia should really know
    better.
