Sorry if this covers tired ground but am finding it very frustrating. I
have an email account with easily.co.uk and cannot set up the phone to
collect and send emails. Can someone give me (or point me in the right
direction) to a fool proof guide to setting up my phone for emails. Oh, im
on vodafone if that makes any difference.

    TIA

    Re: t610 email help

    Hi,

    I'm using a T630, which is very close a T610. I'll try to help.
    Do you know what's wrong? (Can't send / Can't receive ?...)
Does your e-mail provider has both a pop and smtp, like pop.esay.co.uk or
    something alike ?

i think that is part of the problem, it seems you have to have an email
provider which also is an isp. easily is pop3, it is mail.easily.co.uk etc.
    but this never works,

What is your ISP ? Is it Vodafone or another provider ?

You need a e-mail provider which provides a POP3 or IMAP4 access AND you
need to access Internet to reach the server where your e-mail provider
    stores your e-mails.

This is the parameter to set in Data connexion (first line in T610 e-mail
    account setting).

    Re: t610 email help

on my phone i use the pre sets, i.e. vodafone for gprs and wap, at home, im
on bt broadband. i think the problem may be that vodafone will not let me
pick up my email accounts through them. is this correct, and if so is there
    any way round this

I don't think Vodafone will prevent you from retrieving you e-mails from
pop.easy.co.uk. There may be a problem in sending the mails.

When your T610 connects to Vodafone Data service (through the GPRS), do you
have the information : Connecting.... Searching for server...... Server
    found..... ?

As far as I can see there's no pop-mail box with easily.co.uk. You need an
actual mailbox, not just web-based mail.

Free pop-mail boxes are hard to come by these days. You could try
www.hotpop.com. Or any company e-mail account will do.

Then just enter the settings just like you would for setting up an email
account on Outlook (Express), Eudora, etc. Be sure to use your phone network
provider's SMTP (Send mail) though. Check at Vodaphone what they use for
    SMTP.

    Re: t610 email help

You will need to create a data account first, the user manual should help
you with this, or your provider may be able to sms the necessary details to
your handset, or go to the following forums for further detailed advise.
