Ok, this is not a Sony Ericsson, but I would like to point my finger on one
issue. Last week Sony Ericsson revealed 7 new models coming later this year,
but only 1.3 megapixel cameras. This week a small vendor reveals a 2.1
megapixel camera phone to come in 2004. Why is one of the biggest
manufacturer not able to keep up with the small ones?
You can read about this phone here

    Quality? Pricing premium? Market requirement?

Although it might sound nice, I doubt that a 2.1 MP camera-PHONE will be
something usefull. First of all there's the memory-problem. Pictures on that
resolution will take up a lot of memory-space to start with, but perhaps
this can be solved with a larger memory, or some kind of memory-card wich
you can take out just like on regular DSCs... But then there's the
interactive part wich most cellular phones nowadays have: sending out your
pictures through MMS/Picture Message. 2.1 MP-images won't look any better on
phone-screens than the 0.3 MP pictures most other phones have these days,
and second, sending out a 2.1 MP image will cost a lot of money considering
its size. The idea of taking a 2.1 MP picture of something interesting you
come across and then sending it to some e-mail adress or server sounds cool,
but to other phones (even the best screens still have a 'low' resolution, at
least a whole lot lower than your PC-sreen *duh*)... I don't know yet! I
think that getting higher resolutions, until perhaps the whole wide world
has been put under a 3G-kinda network, is something obselete or at least
something quite useless... :S But then I'm talking about PHONES... something
    completely diffirent from DSCs...
